Flint Hills Christian School At A Glance

Flint Hills Christian School (FHCS) is a registered 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization celebrating spiritual development and academic excellence. Our mission, as an extension of the Christian home, is to educate in truth, train in righteousness and fully develop each child in body, mind and spirit. 


ACCREDITATIONS: Association of Christian Schools International (2012); AdvancEd (2013)

ANNUAL ENROLLMENT: Approximately 150 in grades K4-12; 1/3 enrollment are military families

FACULTY: 18 full-time teaching staff, six with advanced degrees Administrator: Full-time administrator (advanced degree); governing 6-member school board

RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION: FHCS is an independent, non-denominational school with over 35 local church congregations represented by students and staff.

CURRICULUM: FHCS uses an effective mix of curricular materials. The elementary grades utilize curricular materials from ABeka, BJU Press, and Purposeful Design. These are faith-based publishers and provide a traditional approach to most academic subjects. Secondary classes utilize a variety of curricular materials from both faith-based and secular publishers. Our goal is an educationally excellent and thoroughly biblical curriculum.

TESTING: FHCS administers the Terra Nova 3 Achievement Test to students in grades 2-9. Students in grades 10 and 11 take the PSAT; and students in grades 11 and 12 take the ACT, SAT or both. The five (5) year composite average ACT score for FHCS seniors is 24.3 compared to a state average of 21.9. FHCS seniors annually have the highest average composite ACT scores of any school in the region. The fall of 2016 saw two of our high school students record ACT scores of 35 and 32, respectively. COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES: Recent FHCS Graduates have been accepted to attend the following colleges and universities: Kansas State University, University of Kansas, University of Nebraska, Emporia State University, Pittsburg State University, Manhattan Christian College, Manhattan Area Technical College, Mid-American Nazarene University, Goshen College, Vincennes University, Missouri State University, Nazarene Bible College, Penn State University, Southern Nazarene University, Taylor University, Abilene Christian University, Central Christian College, Liberty University, Barton County Community College, Cloud Community College, Highland Community College.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR: Volleyball, Cross-Country, Basketball, Golf, Track and Field, Soccer, Praise Band, Leadership Activities, Scholars Bowl, Drama and a host of Community Service Projects.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: True to our core values and following the example that Christ set in loving our neighbor as ourselves, FHCS is involved in a number of community service projects and activities. Contributing positively to our community also plays a key role in our secondary leadership studies which emphasize leadership through service to others.
