Green Walk

FHCS will be having a Spirit Week leading up to our annual Green Walk celebration which will be held on Friday, May 4. With no school on Monday we plan to get a jump on the Spirit Week activities by having “Jersey Day” on Friday. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports jersey. The other Spirit Week dress up days will be:

Tuesday-Disney Day-Dress as your favorite Disney character

Wednesday-Wacky Wednesday-Crazy hair, crazy socks, etc.

  Thursday-Throwback Thursday-Dress from a different time period

  Friday-Green Day-Wear your school T-shirt

For our Green Walk celebration on May 4, students in grades 4-12 will walk along Linear Trail from the River Bridge on Highway 24 to Manhattan Avenue and then will follow Manhattan Avenue to the City Park. Students in grades K-3 will be transported to City Park and they will walk around the park. K4 students will also be joining the walk at City Park this year.

At 11:30 we will have a picnic lunch with hot dogs followed by games and activities. We will then return to campus around 2:30.

We will need parents to help in a variety of ways including providing transportation to and from City Park, serving food, making treats and assisting with games. Mrs. Linville and the leadership class, or elementary room coordinators will be contacting you about how you can be involved.

Our Green Walk fundraising is coming along nicely with over $32,000 collected so far. We had a bunch of packets turned in this week so we are very hopeful that we’ll reach our goal of $60,000, but to do so, we still need everyone’s help. If you haven’t turn in your packet yet, it is not too late.

We look forward to a wonderful celebration and hope you’ll plan to join us.
