Summer Volleyball and Basketball Camps!!

Make your plans now to join us for Volleyball and Basketball Camps this summer at FHCS.
June 12-16 will be the week of our basketball camps.  Students entering grades 3-5 are invited to enroll for the morning session which will run form 9:30-11:30.  Students entering grades 6-8 are invited to the afternoon session from 1:30-4:00.  See the attached flyers for costs and other information.
June 19-23 will be our volleyball camp for students entering grades 5-8.  The camp will run from 9:00-11:30.  Mrs. Melanie McCarty has been hired as the high school volleyball coach for the coming school year and she will be in charge of the camp.  Even though we do not have a boys volleyball team at FHCS, boys are invited to attend the camp as well.
All camps are open to students that attend other schools so feel free to share this information families in your neighborhood or at church.

Philosophy Regarding Interscholastic Athletics

School athletics can create some of the best memories that a person carries with them through life. And that is what the Flint Hills Athletic Department desires to generate. Participation in athletics is more than practices and games. It is a combination of practices, games, discipline and habit development, responsibility building, personal relationship development, and learning how to hand both success and adversity with class and character.

Sports Admission Fees

Single game admission is $4 for adults ($3 for Seniors 62 and older) and $2 for students (K-12).  Family passes per single game are $14.

Family Booster passes, which admit immediate family members to all home volleyball and basketball games are $60.  Single Adult Booster passes are $30 and Single Senior or Student Booster passes are $20 (Booster passes are for Flint Hills families, students and alumni only).  Passes may be purchased from the school office or at the gate prior to any game.  Booster passes may not be used for any tournament (SHEA basketball or KCAA volleyball or basketball).

Philosophy on Priorities

We want each participant to learn many things about their athletic experience. One of those things is an understanding of right priorities. We believe those priorities are:

  • Relationship and walk with God
  • Relationship and family
  • Academics – be the best student you can be
  • Honoring and glorifying God through athletics and other extracurricular pursuits
